Jenny Dyson flute/piccolo

Jenny is an undergraduate student at The University of Manchester and is currently in her second year studying the flute with Richard Davis. She regularly sits as principal of the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra and participates in Vaganza, the University’s leading New Music ensemble. Chamber music is a passion of hers, playing with the Azure Ensemble, a wind quintet formed in September 2009.

Jon Guy clarinets

Jon is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying for a MusB in music and learning clarinet with Chris Swann of the RNCM. He is an enthusiastic performer with other interests including composition and world music.

Rob Guy viola

Rob is currently a postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying viola with Louise Lansdown, where he plays with the Medlock String Quartet. He is also an enthusiastic conductor working in a wide range of repertoire and with a variety of age groups. (www.robert-guy.com)

Christopher Jones violin

Christopher Jones has played the violin for 17 years, and has been an avid chamber musician for the past 12. He studied with Annalee Patipatanakoon (Gryphon Trio) in Toronto and Jonathan Crow (Supernova Quartet) in Montreal, graduating with an Hon. B.Mus. from McGill University. He has also had tutelage or masterclasses with James Ehnes, Gabor Takacs, Mark Fewer, Scott St.John, Malcolm Layfield, Petr Prause, Levon Chillingirian, Philip and David Ying, and Steve Dann among others. Christopher is currently pursuing his studies on scholarship with Pavel Fischer at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Michael Jones violin

Michael is currently in his second year reading music at The University of Manchester where he is studying the violin with Julia Hanson. Recently he has lead the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonietta. He also enjoys playing with The Tower Quartet and regularly performs with Vaganza.

Anna Menzies cello

Anna graduated in 2009 from the Guildhall School of Music and is currently continuing her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she plays with the Medlock String Quartet. As well as her activities as a performer, Anna has a strong interest in composition and has recently written for the London Chamber Orchestra. She teaches at the Yehudi Menuhin School in London.

Steve Pycroft drums

Steve is a drummer and composer/producer based in Manchester, UK. He recently completed a Masters in composition at the University of Manchester, achieving a distinction, where, in 2008 he also achieved a first class honours degree in music. Steve plays and writes a wide variety of styles, from orchestral to dubstep. He has played at various venues around the world with the Riot Jazz Brass Band.
